Some theorists suggested that the sun disk was a spaceship; the creatures travelling in that particular ship interacted with Akhenaten and his family members. It is also believed that he was granted some special powers so he could rule and control Egypt for a longer period.
I was utterly gobsmacked when I read about the Sun Disk of Egypt. Akhenaten, an eighteen dynasty pharaoh, formed an entire religion based upon his thoughts and vision. He ordered multiple people of ancient Egypt to accept it as their only religion and tried to demolish the rest. He also altered numerous historical texts and documents. King Tutankhamen, his son, rectified his mistake once he ascended the throne. He reintroduced several gods that were demolished by his father. Moreover, he tried to improve the documents and hieroglyphs that were altered or changed by his father, Pharaoh Akhenaten. King Tut allowed people to have multiple options, and that made him a powerful and well-respected monarch of ancient Egypt. However, quite a few people who came after Pharaoh Akhenaten’s demise continued to regard the sun or ‘Aten‘ as their ultimate god.
As stated above, ancient Egyptians, in general, had various gods. Quite a few of them were associated with the sun and its powers. However, all were disregarded and discredited by Pharaoh Akhenaten during his era. He believed that there was only one god called the Aten. Furthermore, he obliterated numerous temples and made one for the Aten. The Great Temple of the Aten was a temple located in the city of Amarna, Egypt. It served as the main place of worship of the deity Aten during the reign of Akhenaten c. 1353–1336 BCE.
Another interesting piece of history suggests that Pharaoh Akhenaten composed a hymn for the sun god of Egypt. The Great Hymn was written in the middle of the 14th century. Various other hymns of similar nature have been discovered. Akhenaten’s hymn shares a glimpse of the Amarna period. An entire city was constructed for the Aten. Moreover, Akhenaten’s original name was Amenhotep IV. He changed it because of his religious beliefs.
I firmly believe that something must have happened in the olden days, and that is why Akhenaten decided to worship Aten. When the ruins of tombs and temples were discovered, people started circulating multiple theories. Some theorists claimed that Pharaoh Akhenaten somehow came in contact with extraterrestrial beings. They instructed him to form a new religion. Some theorists suggested that the sun disk was a spaceship; the creatures travelling in that particular ship interacted with Akhenaten and his family members. It is also believed that he was granted some special powers so he could rule and control Egypt for a longer period. However, these are just a few bizarre theories that have been going on for ages.
All in all, quite a lot of things are still a massive mystery. We have no idea if Pharaoh Akhenaten was indeed in contact with extraterrestrial beings or not. However, he was a ruthless monarch. Thousands of Egyptians died during his era. He asked them to build several structures and did not pay them well. They worked day and night to construct his desired monuments and structures even though they had insufficient eatables. His son, King Tut, went easy on his people and offered them options. He was not a vicious ruler, but his reign was pretty short.
