Outer space is a weird place. But it is our human nature to travel into the stars and explore the cosmos. And while we are still in our infancy in doing this, we have made significant progress over the past few decades. Exploring space comes with its rewards. But it also comes with a fair dose of mystery. While exploring space, human astronauts have come across some pretty wild things that remain unexplained to this day.
The STS-115 triangles
One example is the mysterious UFOs the STS-115 crew saw in space. In fact, it is one of the most mysterious sightings in the history of the space shuttle program. Such was the surprise of astronauts and mission control that Houston took control of the remote camera on the shuttle to try and see the mystery objects. The objects, at one point, even formed a triangular formation leaving astronauts in awe. NASA’s explanation was that the objects were space debris. But not everyone was convinced. The STS-115 mission also photographed this odd object in space, and it almost looks like a ghost orbiting the planet.
The X in the sky
Over a decade ago, astronomers spotted a mysterious object hurtling through the solar system. NASA heard about it and pointed its Hubble Space Telescope to take a closer look. Photographs of the objects left experts stunned. Hubble had observed a mysterious x-shaped object speeding across the solar system. And it was unlike scientists had ever seen.
