An expert in Artificial intelligence, and the former director of artificial intelligence and Autopilot Vision at Tesla spoke out about a series of subjects, among them the chances of advanced alien civilizations in the universe.
Chances are that we are already being visited by intelligent extraterrestrial civilizations. I fully understand that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. But I firmly believe we have been and are seeing this extraordinary evidence all around us. The problem is we do not recognize it as such. This is perhaps because of our skeptical nature, perhaps because it is just too extraordinary to grasp. But chances are the UFOs we are seeing, pilots are reporting, and NASA is investigating are, in fact, not of this world. As far as I can tell, the universe is teeming with life. And there have been several studies in the past that have laid out this possibility.

Andrej Karpathy is a computer scientist who served as the director of artificial intelligence at Tesla. He recently spoke out about alien life, in an interview in the Lex Fridman podcast.
