NASA Telescope Spots Massive Rings Around a Black Hole— 10 Things You Need to Know

American scientists using NASA’s Chandra and Swift space observatories have captured a bright short-lived phenomenon – a sequence of concentric rings around a black hole, which are echoes from X-ray flares. Such images of giant X-ray rings provide new information about the dust contained in our Galaxy.

NASA Model On Star Resembling Our Sun—10 Reasons Why This Matters

By the standards of the stars, the Sun is now “a moderately plump star in its prime.” But to thoroughly understand its evolution and try to predict future development, scientists need to find out what such bodies were like at earlier stages of development. Observations of young stars of the same type and, of course, modeling help a lot in this process.

NASA’s New Spacecraft Will Carry Message to Aliens—10 Things You Need to Know

NASA’s new interplanetary Lucy mission, scheduled for launch into space in October 2021, will carry a “time-capsule” with famous quotes from prominent members of society or history. Since the station will continue to orbit Earth for hundreds of thousands of years, perhaps it will one day be found by our distant descendants or perhaps even aliens.
