UFO Seizes Control of Dropping Military Helicopter

In 1973, members of the Army Reserve Helicopter Unit experienced A UFO encounter of the second kind, when an Unidentified Flying Object gained control of their vehicle.

In 1973, members of the Army Reserve Helicopter Unit were flying with Captin Rick Jessy at the controls. While cruising some 2,000 feet above the surface on a clear night, perfect for flying, the crew noticed a strange red light on the horizon. It did not look like a light from other flying vehicles like planes or helicopters. It looked bright red, and it filled the horizon. The light, which at first did not seem frightening, eventually started traveling toward the Military helicopter. As per accounts, the unidentified flying vehicle was cruising at a speed between 500 and 600 knots, although the pilot could not tell for sure. The captain of the helicopter was busy flying, while the rest of the crew had a chance to actually observe the object that was in close proximity. The crew members reported seeing an odd wingless object almost resembling an elongated tic-tac. From what the crew members could tell, the object was metallic in nature, shining in the night sky. It had some sort of a dome at the top, with windows that were visible to the crew members. The pilot only observed the UFO as it was located just above them. Eventually, due to the close proximity, the pilot began evasive maneuvers.

UFO in control

In an attempt to escape the potentially catastrophic situation, Captain Rick Jessy performed what is called an autorotation. This is when you cut the throttle and drop pretty aggressively. But here is when something bizarre happened. Although the captain had performed the maneuver, the crew members reported that the helicopter did not drop. In fact, it seemed as if the UFO had seized control of the helicopter. The unidentified object had managed to pull the helicopter into the air some 800 feet in a matter of seconds. The helicopter was paced into an altitude which, according to the captain, they would not usually fly. The crew struggled to regain control of the helicopter, noticing that the instruments were giving off strange readings. The compass, for example, was pointing in a direction it should not be. Eventually, the pilot regained control of the helicopter, and the crew could land safely.
