Popocatépetl is an active stratovolcano located in Central Mexico, about 70 km southeast of Mexico City. It is the second-highest peak in Mexico and one of the most active volcanoes in the country. Popocatépetl’s name comes from the Nahuatl words “popōca” (smoke) and “tepetl” (mountain), meaning “smoking mountain.”

There are various reports of strange lights and objects in the sky near Popocatépetl. Some people believe that these sightings are evidence of extraterrestrial activity, while others suggest that they may be related to military or government testing.

It’s worth noting that many supposed UFO sightings can be explained by natural phenomena, such as meteor showers or atmospheric anomalies. However, some sightings remain unexplained, and the mystery surrounding Popocatépetl has made it a popular destination for UFO enthusiasts and researchers.

It’s difficult to definitively explain why Popocatépetl has become a UFO hotspot, as there are many possible factors that could contribute to the phenomenon. However, there are several theories that have been proposed to explain the high number of UFO sightings in the area.

The Popocatépetl, UFOs and theories

One theory is that the volcanic activity at Popocatépetl creates an electromagnetic field that attracts UFOs. Some UFO researchers suggest that extraterrestrial craft may be drawn to areas with high levels of energy, such as active volcanoes, and that they use these areas as a source of power or to recharge their batteries.

Another theory is that the location of Popocatépetl is strategically important, and that the Mexican government may be conducting secret tests or experiments in the area. Some people believe that the government is using the volcano as a cover for their activities, and that the UFO sightings are actually related to their operations.

Additionally, Popocatépetl is located near Mexico City, which is one of the largest and most densely populated cities in the world. It’s possible that many of the reported UFO sightings are actually misidentifications of other objects, such as aircraft or drones, due to the high levels of air traffic in the area.

And although some UFO sightings could be explained as natural phenomena or manmade objects, there are some that are mindboggling. One such UFO sighting was recorded on camera. A mysterious cylindrical object, resembling a missile seems to come shooting off one of the slopes of the volcano at high speed through the clouds toward space. UFO activity at the site has always been quite high, with luminous “objects” not only coming out of the volcano, as on this occasion, but also flying over or entering it. This has led many ufologists to characterize this Mexican icon as a possible portal to another world —with interdimensional manifestations— or an alien base. What these objects are, remains a mystery. Take your pick.

It is worth mentioning that, the object we see here “shooting out” of the Popocatépetl bears a striking resemblance to the object filmed by a US Spy drone over Baghdad. You can read more about it here.
