Stephen Hawking is my favorite person of all time, mainly because he was a survivor. He had no reason to remain alive as his body was not functional, and he was in constant pain. However, he did not give up. And he showed the world that there are no limits in life. There are no constraints other than those you put on yourself. Stephen Hawking made several contributions to the field of science and physics. Unfortunately, Hawking spent most of his life in a wheelchair as he was diagnosed with a lethal condition called motor neuron disease when he was 21.

He was told that he would live for only two years. He defied all odds and remained alive for over 50 years. His body was not completely functional back when he died, but his mind was perfectly intact. Stephen Hawking, in general, is famous for having an exceptional brain.  Stephen Hawking solved the mystery of black holes back in the 1970s. He proposed a theory explaining that black holes are not entirely black. Moreover, he believed that the size of a black hole is constant and it never changes.

Hawking was quite vocal when it came to his opinions and assumptions. He stated various other things that sounded terrifying but were accurate. For example, we all are aware of the fact that humans cannot survive on planet earth for an extended period. We will have to migrate to another habitable planet to preserve our species. Moreover, our planet is not located on a stable point. It would one day vanish with the sun. Hence, it’s mandatory for us to think of ways through which we can save our forthcoming generations.

Let’s have a look at the pronouncements Stephen Hawkings made during his time on planet earth:

1) Humans will have to leave Earth at some point:

Stephen Hawking requested humans relocate to some other planet. According to his theories, humankind would eventually fall victim to an extinction-level catastrophe. He believed our beloved planet would one day vanish as multiple asteroids strike it now and then. All in all, Hawking understood a host of other possible threats, such as artificial intelligence, climate change, viruses, and nuclear war. Hence, he wanted us to find planets to house and shelter humans.

2) The era of artificial intelligence:

Stephen Hawking feared that machines would one day take over the world. He was afraid that developments in artificial intelligence would give rise to a new form of life that would outperform humans. Hence, he requested humans be very cautious with AI.

3) The change in environmental conditions of the earth:

Stephen Hawking considered global warming one of the greatest threats to life on the planet. Hawking warned about the so-called tipping point, where global warming would become unchangeable. He mentioned that it would be impossible for humans to survive on the planet after the ‘tipping point.’

4) The arrival of extraterrestrial beings on planet earth:

Stephen Hawking mentioned that aliens could harm us. He believed that they would cause destruction on planet earth and would kill us all. Some of his comments make sense, as we have no idea what creatures live in outer space. The forthcoming generations will have to face them as experts constantly try to reach out to extraterrestrial beings.

If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn’t turn out well for the Native Americans. Stephen Hawking

5) The birth of superhumans:

Stephen Hawking believed that individuals could enhance their genes with the help of technology. He feared that superhumans would destroy the earth.

Laws will probably be passed against genetic engineering with humans. But some people won’t be able to resist the temptation to improve human characteristics, such as memory, resistance to disease and length of life. Stephen Hawking
