Archaeologists have come across the most amazing and strange finds during excavations. Here are some of the weirdest.
Archaeologists have been fortunate to come across many incredible discoveries throughout history. From time to time, and as I have written in previous articles, they discovered mythical long-lost cities. Other times, technologies such as LiDAR have allowed them to spot, from the air, the remnants of entire cultures hidden deep beneath the thick forest canopy. And this is an ongoing process. The archeological workforce continues strong, making discoveries on all continents.
Some of these finds are more sensational than others, but all of them deserve our acknowledgment. One such extraordinary discovery can be traced back to 2008, when construction workers in Seattle discovered a massive mammoth tusk. Not only did it turn out to be thousands of years old, but it was also the largest mammoth tusk discovered by experts, with a length measured at 2.6 meters. But more amazing discoveries are made each day, from boats, long-lost bombs, or ancient tombs. In this video, fifteen such discoveries are noted, showing what a great line of work archaeologists are in.
